Introduction to Silica Gel


Silica Gel is a highly active adsorption material. The raw material is prepared by reacting sodium silicate and sulfuric acid through a series of post-treatment processes. Its chemical formula is mSiO2.nH2O.

Silica gel is insoluble in water and any solvents, does not react with any substances except strong alkalis and strong acids, and has stable chemical properties.

The rich microporous structure inside the silica gel particles has a strong adsorption capacity for water vapor and various peculiar smells. The chemical composition and physical structure of silica gel determine that it has many advantages that other similar materials are difficult to replace: high adsorption performance, non-toxic and harmless, stable chemical properties, and high mechanical strength.

Main uses: desiccant, adsorbent, compressor air drying, beer stabilizer, pharmaceutical intermediates, catalyst carrier, oil purification and cat litter.
